KAREN JULIA KORFMACHER
Mediator l Personal & Business Coach l Mentor l Couples Counselor l HR & Newplacement Consultant l Attorney
I work with professionals, leaders, teams and organisations who are facing transitions, decisions or complex challenges – and who seek a structured, safe space to navigate them. My focus includes career transitions, role changes, (self-)leadership, team dynamics, decision-making and professional development.

We carry many answers and resources within us – yet professional complexity, expectations and dynamics can make it difficult to access them. I create a clear and structured space for you: professional and non-judgmental, resource- and solution-oriented, strategic and practical. Together, we build orientation, analyse patterns, develop new perspectives and shape the steps that truly fit your goals, roles and context.

I work with systemic questions, proven tools, strategic reflection and insights from research, models and many years of practice in coaching, consulting, HR, leadership and change management. The aim is a clear, effective and sustainable way through professional change and challenges – without pressure, but with structure, clarity and depth.

I support you in:
-
Gaining clarity and confidence during professional transitions.
-
Strengthening self-leadership, resilience and priorities – especially in demanding situations, periods of responsibility, growth or reorientation.
-
Understanding your strengths, values and professional identity – to shape a future that fits your personality, goals and working style.
-
Developing and refining leadership skills – for effective communication, thoughtful decision-making and mindful leadership in everyday practice.
-
Navigating role changes, shifting expectations or complex decisions with more clarity and structure.
-
Designing professional transitions consciously – whether following job loss, changing circumstances, career development or a new professional direction.
-
Understanding and resolving team dynamics and conflicts – for improved collaboration, psychological safety and constructive teamwork.
-
Preparing strategic decisions – well-reflected, aligned with your goals and grounded in your strengths and possibilities.
-
Improving communication and collaboration – within teams, leadership contexts or challenging conversations.

Newplacement Consulting – career reorientation, positioning and professional transitions

Career changes are rarely simple decisions. They are often driven by the desire for clarity, purpose and a professional direction that genuinely aligns with one’s strengths, needs and values.

Many people come to Newplacement Consulting after experiencing an involuntary job loss, a sense of being stuck, changing organizational conditions or the wish for a new, meaningful direction. In all of these situations, Newplacement provides structured, clarifying and relieving support.

Newplacement Consulting helps you shape professional transitions and new beginnings consciously, strategically and with a strong sense of agency. At the center are your professional identity, your strengths and the question of which conditions a future role must meet for you to thrive.

assess and evaluate professional options,

Team Mediation – conflict resolution, collaboration and communication

Systemic Team Mediation is a confidential and structured process to help resolve conflicts within teams and organizations voluntarily and independently. As a certified mediator, I guide you through the process in a structured, independent, impartial manner and without decision-making authority.

Mediation aims to resolve specific challenges in the present and simultaneously create the basis for a better future together. The focus lies on the creative and sustainable resolution of specific conflicts, with short to medium-term support.

Good collaboration is a skill that can be learned - it requires transparent, emotional communication and the development of safe communication and conflict rules. This involves not only how to resolve conflicts, but also how to build an open and supportive corporate culture. Practical exercises and interactive methods strengthen the ability to manage conflicts in such a way as to ensure that they are not destructive, but can be used as an opportunity for personal and collective growth.

Key Facts:

Focus: Specific current conflicts, context-dependent challenges
Time frame: Present + future
Duration: Short to medium-term (usually 3-5 sessions)
Time- and cost-efficient: Mediation is generally faster, cheaper and associated with a lower cost risk than court proceedings

5 Phases of Mediation (5-Phases Model):

The mediation process is divided into 5 essential phases. At the beginning, you establish the basis for your cooperation by means of a working agreement. You then describe your view of the conflict one after the other and collect topics that you would like to discuss together. We then look at the underlying interests and needs. Finally, you develop and work on solution options and, if you wish, bring these to a final agreement.

Confidential individual pre-mediation meetings (45 minutes) are not required for every case, but they can be highly valuable in certain situations — for example when topics are complex, emotions are high, or when you want to ensure a well-prepared and safe starting point.
Clarity. Connection. Growth.
